The Drawing Process of this painting:

::: Diablo III - Reaper of Souls - Wizard :: by Sangrde

--

it's not a how to for shading (I'll layer make skin shading tutorial or face tutorial),

but to help you to guide the revise colors and how screen/soft light/dodge layers are applied. (I use a lot of layers of soft light/overlay/screen/etc.)

It might help you if you wondering, 'it doesn't seem like it's done with normal brush setting, how can I get this color?"

I have asked artists in the past about their techniques, here are many of the answers

I have been looking for.

Thank you.

im a traditional artist

id like to learn about digital art

and ive been wondering....
do i make the rough sketch then scan it to my computer?

or do i sketch using (errr what should i call it? The rectangle thingy where you draw it into your pc) The Thing

would really love to learn digital art :))

oh you mean a tablet.. c: yea u can draw on computer using tablet like doing traditional art.. it's not that expensive, mine is under $50...

and you can do what you feel like; if you prefer pencil, you can scan it and upload it on your computer and then color on it with a painting program..

OR you can just sketch with tablet and color on it directly. I used to sketch with pencil and scan it for digital coloring, but i found it timed-consuming so Now I'm doing everything digitally... c; hope this answered your question.. ..

Very simple, but one of the best digital painting tuts I have seen to date. Because you not only show how to paint, but you include what effects work best in what blending modes. Stunning work!! Gonna try this out!!!

You're welcome and dang, that's a hell of a lot, right now i'm trying to master drawing complex stuff as you've shown here but on less layers, trying to see if i can get everything on 1 layer....always sucks if you mess up though as then if you erase, well something else gets wiped too, lol!

I think it's more how a person prefers how to go about the drawing, and even the style. I like to use a more painterly style and usually I'll have one main layer, and make new ones. Like IF I'm drawings a BG, and decide to add a rock, I'll make a new layer for the rock until I'm done with it, then merge. So a merge as I go sort of deal, I rarely go over 10 layers.

However, if I'm working on an inked drawing, I'd of course have the ink/Lines on one layer, and then all the colors on their own layers.

It really should be just use whatever you are comfortable with. I know a lot of professionals that use many layers and keep them until the end even!

I think it's actually fine to just use one layer if you're comfortable with that.  I personally prefer to use very few layers, like 3-4.  artists come in many different shapes and sizes.

Very true, think though the more advance artist tend to use far less layers though like if you have mastery over what you do then you know you don't require so many layers to get something really complex done!

제가 항상 사이툴만 써서 포샵으로 그리는걸 어색해하는데 포샵으로 페인팅하는것도 좀 연습해봐야겠어요 8ㅂ8
